This piece was created during the height of the coronavirus pandemic. My mom, being an Intensive Care Unit nurse, works the night shift to help those who are ill with COVID-19. Every time before she leaves for work, she prays. I wanted to capture this emotional moment as no words can describe how incredible my mom is in not only being a nurse but a nurse in a time of a pandemic of health insecurity and fatality. I commend my mom for all the sacrifices she has undergone and is going through now for not only my family but for the others she is treating. I love you, mama!
